West Java Provincial Government Appoints Baliola to Implement Blockchain Technology for Digital Trust

The West Java Provincial Government has officially appointed Baliola as a partner in implementing the Mandala Application Chain (MAC) Fabric technology for Blockchain as a Service (BaaS). This appointment was marked by the signing of a Work Contract between H. Mark Aditiya, S.E., M.T., Head of the E-Government Division of the West Java Provincial Government’s Communications and Information Office (Diskominfo), and IGP Rahman Desyanta, CEO of Baliola, in a ceremony held in Bandung on Thursday, March 5, 2025.

MAC Fabric is a blockchain technology specifically designed for government and enterprise use, aimed at facilitating the integration of blockchain into digital service systems. The West Java Provincial Government will implement this technology to enhance the protection of public data and establish digital trust within regional governance. This technology enables greater transparency and data security, preventing manipulation and ensuring the integrity of information in public administration systems.

Blockchain for Security and Digital Trust

As part of the government’s digitalization efforts, blockchain will serve as the primary infrastructure for all districts and cities in West Java to safeguard data security. Using a permissioned blockchain system, only authorized parties can access and manage information, thereby minimizing the risk of data breaches and misuse.

“This Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) will be the fundamental foundation for building digital trust within government environments. With this technology, the government not only enhances data security but also ensures transparency and accountability in public services,” said Mark Aditiya, representing the West Java Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, Gede Anta stated that this solution will not only provide protection for public data but also create a more trustworthy digital ecosystem.

“With the implementation of MAC Fabric, we hope to establish a more transparent, efficient, and secure digital governance system for the people of West Java,” he explained.

MAC Fabric has been registered in the e-Catalog of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP), signifying that this technology has passed the evaluation process and is ready for implementation by various government agencies across Indonesia. As a result, not only West Java but also other provinces and regions can adopt this system to improve their data governance quality.

A Pioneer in Digital Trust in Indonesia

This initiative is expected to serve as a model for other provinces in adopting blockchain technology for more secure and transparent governance. As the digitalization of public services continues to grow, data security and digital trust have become crucial aspects of modern governance.

“We hope that this implementation will support Indonesia’s data sovereignty and accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology in government systems. This is not just about digitalization; it is about building a safer, more efficient, and more trustworthy digital future,” added IGP Rahman Desyanta.

With the signing of this contract, West Java becomes one of the pioneers in utilizing blockchain for governance, bringing Indonesia one step closer to a digital era focused on data security and transparency.
